Types of Dental Treatment

Accessible Dental Services (ADS) offers comprehensive routine and restorative dental care for both dentulous and edentulous patients with intellectual disabilities, autism, and behavioral health needs.  Along with scheduled appointments, ADS also accommodates emergency appointments and referrals for patients.

ADS clinics offer both non-sedation and intravenous (IV) sedation dental treatments, based upon each patient’s needs, in an effort to ensure that all patients have access to a complete and thorough dental examination, including any needed restorative services.

Non-Sedation

For non-sedation dental treatments, dental care is provided by an ADS dentist and dental support staff.  While appointment times may vary, non-sedation dental appointments are typically 30 minutes and are offered at all ADS clinic locations as well as our mobile dental unit

Sedation

For sedation dental treatments, an ADS anesthesiologist and team administers the IV sedation and monitors the sedation throughout the treatment.  In addition, the dental care for sedation dental treatments is provided by an ADS dentist and dental support staff.  While appointment times may vary, sedation dental appointments are typically 45 minutes and are offered at all ADS clinic locations.
